The Newport dump was being somewhat neglected, so I decided to give it some attention. I was very happy to find a J.T. Lyon Newport, RI blob. This is an error version of the T.J. Lyon blob. Sadly it was a victim of the slippery mud it was rescued from and ended up breaking in half. Still, it's a fantastic discovery.
Back at the soda spot I found an Orme Carbonating Co. Providence, RI in green. There are two sizes of the green version and this was the unlisted one I didn't have!
Newport offered up another amazing crier! A P. Bryer Choice Groceries Newport, RI is a completely unknown bottle. The lip was missing but I was able to spy it in the mud and glue it back on.
A familiar Frank L. Powell Chemist Newport, RI pharmacy was a new size at 5-3/4”.
I noticed a possible RI bottle in a large group of bottles for sale online and asked the seller for a close up picture. I was amazed to see it was embossed Boston Store Toilet Dept. Newport, RI. That makes it an extremely rare department store perfume bottle! I now have Boston Store bottles from their Pawtucket and Newport locations.
