A friend picked up a McKenna Bros. 54 Eagle St. Providence, RI blob top for me. While I have a lot of these good looking blobs this one was a new variant!
My friend also dug a J. Keron Central Falls, RI skinny crown top with me recently that I got in a trade. I'm surprised this is the first one in this style from Keron.
I spotted a rare whiskey embossed The Nutshell John J. Kean Providence, RI on ebay. It had a lot of competition but managed to take it home. I was surprised to see it was an unlisted pint size!
Sad news greeted me at the Newport dump. I arrived to find they were working on the “bottle trench” we had been digging in. It was going to become a drainage ditch. However, for the time being they had drained it and dug out the other side which we had not dug yet. I quickly found a massive 9” Wright & Hay Newport, RI! While I have a soft spot for small meds, the monster (16 and 32oz) will always be my favorites.
A former archaeologist reached out to me to look at some bottles he had. One was a Seaside Beverage Co. Newport, RI seltzer. This is the third known bottle from this short-lived company. Now the hunt is on for the other two!
